Jack's First Bath - May 18th

Jack loved his first bath! He did not like the sponge baths at all, so we were so thrilled when his belly button fell off on mother's day night so we could give him a regular tub bath.  He continues to love his baths, but looses it once he gets out.  This boy hates to be cold!!

Mommy's First Mother's Day

Jack's First Week Home - May 7th to May 13th

Jack's first week home from the hospital was a busy one.  Mommy and Daddy were quickly introduced to life with not much sleep.  The week was also filled with visitors eager to meet Jack.

The Conetta Family of 3 Goes Home!

After almost a week in the hospital, it was time for all three of us to go home.   We left the hospital on Monday, May 7th.  It was overwhelming to think that we were now responsible for this little man!

In my going home outfit
Mommy looks as tired as Jack!

Look at daddy's lanyard that his coworkers made for him

Daddy looks like a natural!

Look at those eyes looking up at daddy saying "are you guys sure about this" :)

Do we look terrified?

Jack Graduates From the NICU!

Jack was discharged from the NICU in the middle of the night on Sunday, May 6th.  It was the first time mommy and daddy were able to have him all to ourselves! We were terrified but so relieved that he was finally ok.

Here Comes Trouble!

We should have known Jack was going to be a hand-full from even before his birth.  He earned the nick name "trouble" after keeping the nurses on their toes with his constant dipping heart rate throughout mommy's labor.  After Jack was born, he spent 4 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at South Shore Hospital.  After birth, he had dangerously low blood sugar and needed to be on an IV of sugar water until his body was able to regulate his sugar on it's own.  It was tough for mommy and daddy to see him in the NICU, hooked up to an IV and the monitors.  We feel so blessed for the amazing care he received while he was there.

Ready or Not....It's time baby Conetta!!

My original due date was April 24th, 2012.  That day came and went, and after no sign of going into labor, I was scheduled to be induced on the night of May 1st.  I kept hoping to go into labor on my own, but baby Conetta had other hopes! We got a call that day to arrive at the hospital at 5:30pm to start the induction process.  Jason and I stopped for our "last supper" at Bertucci's for a pizza.  The ride was emotional, realizing it was our last one "just the two of us".

Here I am the night of May 1st, hooked up to the baby heart rate monitor.  I remember being so nervous, not having any idea what the next few days would bring.

After 36 LONG hours of induction and labor, our precious baby boy was born at
8:16am on Thursday, May 3rd, 2012! He was well worth the wait!
first few minutes of life...absolutely priceless!
